If you’ve hung out around ELK Studio, you know that we’ve had so much fun this past week with our first project in the Christmas Present Crochet-Along (and it’s never to late to join). I think there are over 300 photos that I’ve added to different collages. You can see all the different ways one project can look if you join the ELK Studio Crochet group (And you’ll want to join for the Wrapped in Warmth CAL so you won’t miss a thing!)
Anyway, some of you have asked about doing the Wrapped in Warmth Shawl as a Crochet-Along! I think it’s a great idea and would be lots of fun! It won’t be part of the Christmas Present Crochet-Along because all of those projects will be FREE. The Wrapped in Warmth shawl is a paid pattern, but I’m going to give you a few different ways to get the pattern and/or yarn at a discount. I would love to start it this week but need to give everyone a chance to get their materials together, so we’ll officially kick off July 25th at 9 am CST! Don’t worry if you can’t start with us directly on the 25th because I’m going to give us 5 weeks to complete the project!
Here is your supply list:
1. Lion Brand Heartland Yarn, 5 0z/142 grams, 251 yards, Medium #4. I used 3 full skeins for this project. If you crochet loosely, you may want to get another skein as extra.
2. Hook – J/6.0
3. Tapestry Needle for weaving in the ends
As I have done with the Christmas Present CAL, I will create an event in the ELK Studio Crocheters group. The group will be a place where you can get help and ask questions (but not required). So, request to JOIN, I’ll add you then you’ll see the events tab within the group at the top. My good friend Lori, from Busy Hook will also be helping me with questions. She has made this shawl several times for her Etsy shop and knows the pattern well. It’s always great to have such wonderful help. (Thanks Lori!)
Here are a few ways to get the pattern and/or yarn!
- Buy ONLY the pattern from my Ravelry shop at a 50% discount. No code is necessary. This discount will last from today until the last official day of the CAL which is August 29th at 10 pm CST.
- Buy the pattern and yarn in a kit from Craftsy. As of today, (July 13th), you can buy 3 skeins of Lion Brand Heartland yarn and the pattern for $13.50 which is a really great deal! (Price is subject to change without notice).
- Buy ONLY the yarn from Craftsy. I’ve searched around and they currently have this yarn on sale for $3.60/skein and is normally priced $5.99/skein. (Price is subject to change without notice.)
