It’s our 5th project in the ELK Studio Kid’s Christmas Projects and this one is a SO much fun. The kids will love making the pom poms and attaching them to the tree. It really is a quick project if you decide to use a small foam tree. I can see this tree being made in such a variety of different colors can’t you? The kids could really get creative with what they decide to use!
Let’s not forget to thank Premier Yarns for sponsoring these terrific Kid’s Christmas Projects!
Supplies:
- Premier Serenity Chunky, Bulky Weight Yarn, #5 Worsted Weight, 100% Acrylic, Colorways: After Dark and Holly
- Glue or Pins
- Foam Cone – 5 7/8″ x 2″ x 16″
- Scissors
- Pom Pom Maker – 1 3/8″ and 1 5/8″
Instructions:
- Cut out your pom poms. I used the larger size for the tree except for the last two top rounds. I decided to use the smaller size pom pom maker for those two rounds.
- You can use glue or pins to adhere the pom poms to the tree. I decided to use pins because after Christmas is over, I’ll just removed the pom poms from the tree and place them in a bag for safe keep along with the foam tree. I think it’s a personal choice.
- Make your pom pom tree topper using a different color. (I used Red).
I hope you’ll have fun making this project and be sure to stay tuned from other projects coming your way! Thanks again to Premier Yarns for sponsoring the ELKies!
