UPDATE: 11/25/2015 I have added the right-handed version tutorial!
Here’s is a video tutorial on how to do a “normal” front post double crochet and a different technique for doing the back post double crochet. It essence, the different way of doing the bpdc will give the bpdc/fpdc when done in rows a unique wavy effect. I hope you enjoy this video!
Here is a picture of a normal fpdc/bpdc stitch and the new technique of doing the bpdc stitch.
Why would you want to use this stitch? It will help you with the Just Groovin’ Beanie!
The instructions for doing the normal bpdc is as follows: YO, insert hook from back to front around of stitch indicated, YO, and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice
The instruction for doing the bpdc with the different technique is the same as above expect that instead of wrapping the yarn forward around the hook, you will wrap the yarn backwards and when you pull through, you will wrap the yarn backwards to pull through. Your hook will always be facing backwards from you when you are pulling through the loops. That is what will give the different style to the project.
