There was a tie for the top viewed submissions from last week.  Our first project shown is by Jennifer from Stew-Art Creations.  I’m in awe of this spectacular blanket!  The amount of time it takes to create a project of this size is honorable and deserves the utmost respect.  The afghan measures 60″ x 86″ and fits a twin size bed.  Jennifer used chunky yarn too, so you know it’s super squishy and warm.  Thanks for sharing your project Jennifer!

Stew-Art Creations Making it thru Monday submissionOur next project comes from Crochet Cuties by Elizabeth.  I love every time Elizabeth posts a project because most of them have Ally, her daughter, as the model.  Ally has such a beautiful smile, and I love her hair!  The stitching for the scarf is the crocodile stitch and the colors in the yarn are simply amazing!  Great job Elizabeth and thanks for sharing!

It’s a New Crochet Hat Pattern! Free? Maybe……..

I started on this hat pattern about a month ago but never did get around to finishing it.  I thought it was a pretty pattern but it didn’t seem to jump out at me like I had hoped.  Well, I picked it back up a few nights ago using the Red Heart Soft turquoise……that was my problem!  It was my color choice!  I shouldn’t have done the original pattern in CREAM!

Here’s the hat in a mix of green/white and then done in a solid turquoise.  What do you think?

Morning Frost free beanie pattern by ELK Studio

I’m working it up again now in a different color and still tweaking the pattern a little, but it’s almost finished.  I’m wondering if I should make this pattern free?  So, here’s the deal.  If you can convince me that it should be, I’ll do it.  Leave your comments, begs and pleas telling me why I should make it free.  I want some creativity too folks.  Your crocheters, so I know you can think of something!  Let’s have some fun!

The top viewed project from last week comes for a good friend of mine, Maria.  She’s extremely talented, and I had the pleasure of actually testing this fantastic hat!  It works up really quick using some standard stitching, but the combination gives that great textured look.  Here’s the link to Pattern Paradise and the free pattern.  Be sure to check out some of her other works too while over your visiting!

Northern StripesOur next project comes from Kristen of “kreative studios”.  She joined a crochet-a-long from Design Wars and made the beautifully colored cowl you see in the picture.  What do you do with left over yarn?  You make boot cuffs and a head band……of course!!!!
