Sometimes it’s hard to understand what a pattern is telling you to do especially if you are a visual person and videos can really help you. In this video, you’ll learn how to combine 2 double crochet stitches together to make one. Why would you need to do that right? Well, I can give you a couple of examples.
In the Naturally Southern Shawl the project starts working on one side leading to the other. As you start, you will be increasing your project but to make the project a triangular shape, you’ll need to start decreasing which is where combining 2 double crochet stitches come into play. You may also see it written as (dc2tog)
Double Crochet 2 Stitches Together (dc2tog): YO, insert your hook in indicated st, YO, pull up a loop, YO pull through 2 loops, YO, insert hook into next st, YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull through remaining 3 loops.
