Have you used the Red Heart Chic Sheep yarn by Marly Bird? It’s an amazing yarn that is super squishy, soft and warm. The stitch definition with this yarn is incredible. I can assure you that you’ll love it once you try it.

- Red Heart Chic Sheep Yarn by Marly Bird, #4 Worsted Weight, 100% Merino, 186 yds/100 grams, Colorway: Fairy Tail (1 skein), Lace (2 skeins), Platinum (2 skeins), Sterling (3 skeins)
- I Hook/5.5.0mm
- Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip st
Gauge: 6 V-sts and 8 rows = 4″
Finished Measurements: 59″ x 31″
Special Stitches:
Beginning V-stitch (Beg V-st) – (ch 4, dc)
V-stitch (V-st) – (dc, ch 1, dc)
Notes:
- Ch 3 is considered the first dc in the row.
- Ch 1 is not considered the first st in the row.

Here are the color changes:
Rows 1-7: Sterling
Row 8: Platinum
Row 9: Lace
Row 10: Fairy Tail
Row 11: Lace
Row 12: Platinum
Repeat again starting with Row 1 and follow the color changes listed above throughout the pattern ending the last repeat on Row 7.
Pattern Instructions
Row 1: Ch 6, dc in 5th ch from the hook, dc in last ch, turn. (1 V-st, 1 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (See Pattern Notes), V-st (See Special Stitches) in next ch-1 sp, V-st in top of ch 3, turn. (2 v-sts, 1 dc)
Row 3: Beg V-st (See Special Stitches) in first st, V-st in next ch-1 sp (2 times), dc in top of ch 3, turn. (3 V-sts, 1 dc)
Row 4: Ch 3, V-st in each ch-1 sp across, V-st in top of ch 3, turn. (4 V-sts, 1 dc)
Row 5: Beg V-st in first st, V-st in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of ch 3, turn. (5 V-sts, 1 dc)
Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until you have reached Row 79 or either your desired width. Each row will increase by one V-st. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Edging:
With RS facing, ch 1, sc in first st, sc in each st and ch-1 sp across, 3 sc in corner st, sc evenly down the side, 3 sc in first st, sc evenly up the side, join by sl st to first st. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
