It’s always fun to go plundering in the box sent to me by Michael’s that is full of the Barcelona yarn, so I decided to work on a fun beanie. Oh. My. Gosh ya’ll. When Emory saw this hat….he wanted it too! I really didn’t “make it for him”, but he’s already taken it to his special spot in the top drawer for easy access. He really makes crocheting hats so much fun! I hope you’ll love this beanie pattern and can totally see it in some pinks and purples for that girl in your life too! Thanks to Michael’s for sponsoring me with the yarn for this project.
You’ll love the warm texture of this project because like the Made for the Cold Beanie, the stitches give a little extra warmth.

Supplies:
- Loops and Threads Barcelona, #5 Bulky Weight, 100% Acyrlic, 328 yards/200g, Colorway: Mocha I used approximately 130-180 yards.
- Hook Size: J/6.0mm
- Tapestry Needle for Weaving in the ends.
Abbreviations:
blo – back loop only
ch – chain
rem – remaining
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
sp(s) – space(s)
Gauge: 12 sc and 16 rows = 4″
Finished Measurement: 20″,22″,24″
Notes:
- Ch 1 in the first st is not considered the first sc in the pattern.
- I wanted to mention that due to the textured stitching, the hat may “appear” large. When Emory saw the hat, he thought that it was be too big. I encouraged him to try it on anyway, and he was surprised that it fit perfectly. The “special stitching” adds that extra layer and just makes it look “larger”.
Special Stitch:
Special Single Cluster Crochet: (sscc) Insert hook into st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through one loop, insert hook in front loop only in round below, YO, pull up a loop, YO pull through 2 loops, insert hook back in same sp, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through all 3 remaining loops. (The stitch may be a little familiar to you because it’s similar to the ssc stitch I used in the Made for the Cold Beanie but with a little twist).
