If you love to crochet while watching television or riding in a car…..here’s the project for you! It’s super simple and you really just keep repeating one round until you’ve reached your desired size. Once you reach that point, you’ll add the simple edging stitch!
The pattern is broken down into 2 parts. I’ll be giving you the instructions for the edging of the pattern in this blog post, so we’ll call it Part Two. Part One included the body of the pattern.
So….let’s get started with Part Two of the instructions!
Supplies:
- Juniper Moon Farm Zooey, #2 Weight Yarn, 60% Cotton, 40% Linen, 284 yards/100g, Colorways: White (2 balls), Lemon (3 balls)
- Hook Size: G/4.00
- Tapestry Needle for Weaving in the ends.
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
Gauge: 14 dc and 8 rows = 4″
Finished Measurements:
Notes:
- Ch 3 is considered the first dc in the round.
- Ch 1 is not considered the first sc in the round.
- Multiple chain counts of 16 starting with the suggestions below
- Ch 92, 108, 124, 140, 156
Special Stitches:
Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)
Bottom Edging:
Round 1: Using White, sl st over to ch 2 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, *ch 1**, shell in center ch-2 sp, [ch 1, skip next 2 dc, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp] until corner shell, repeat from * around, ending last repeat at **, join by sl st to first st.
Round 2: sl st in next st, ch 1, 3 sc in next st, ch 1, *skip next (st, ch-1 sp), sc in next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in center ch-2 sp, sc in next 2 sts, ch 1, skip next (ch-1 sp, st), 3 sc in next st, ch 1 [skip next (st, ch-1 sp, st), 3 sc in next st, ch 1] until corner shell, repeat from * around, ending last repeat at **, join by sl st to first st.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, (dc ch 4, dc) in next st, sc in next st, skip next ch-1 sp, *skip next st, sc in next st, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next st, sc in next st, (dc, ch 4, dc) in center ch-2 sp, sc in next st, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next st, sc in next st, skip next (st, ch-1 sp), [sc in next st, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next st, sc in next st, skip next ch-1 sp] until last 4 sts before center ch-2 sp, repeat from * around, join by sl st to first st. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Top Edging:
Round 1: Using white, join by sl st, ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 1, skip next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around, join by sl st to first st.
Round 2: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same ch-1 sp, ch 1, *skip next st, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, repeat from * around, join by sl st to first st.
Round 3: Repeat Round 2, Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
