I know this week everyone has asked lots of questions regarding the type of yarn I used for the Southern Diamonds Baby Blanket, and if I could recommend a substitute. You can certainly use a substitute yarn if you want. Gauge is not a critical part of this project since it’s just a baby blanket. I don’t think anyone would really care if it ended up bigger right? Smaller maybe…but most of you probably won’t be using a thinner yarn in the first place. Honestly whether it’s a #3 or even a #4 weight yarn probably wouldn’t matter. I think you’ll find that whatever you choose….it will come out perfect!
Another request this week was if I planned on giving instructions for multiple sizes. I really didn’t include this in the initial design but since there were many requests, I decided to honor them. The color scheme on the original design is specific to the number of rows so that information will not be included in the multiple sizes. You can always use a random stripe generator for inspiration. I want to thank everyone for their support! You can get more information about different sizes on the Southern Diamonds Build Your Own Blanket Page! Click HERE for the page!
Now….let’s get on with the fun!
