When I finished the Pumpkin Spice beanie I thought there was only one skein of the Malabrigo yarn left but actually had two! It was just enough to make this shawl! On this project you can see a hint of blues and even purples. The yarn is the same name but different dye lots. If the yarn were a solid color it probably wouldn’t work because of the noticeable difference but in this case, I loved it. I actually mixed the 2 skeins using one first then stopping halfway and using the 2nd skein then starting over until I had used it all! There wasn’t going to be any left over yarn on this project…..

Thank you for sharing this pattern. Shawls are one of my favorite things to crochet. I’m pondering on making it in shades of blue. Great job!

love this shawl! i started working on it and immediately hit a problem. where am i getting 8 stiches from on round 1? or 16 stitches on round 2? i’m following each round, but i do not get the number of stitches you say at the end….am i missing something?
Kathy Lashley says
Loretta,
Are you counting the ch 2 stitches for the center. On round one you make 3 dc stitches, then chain 2 stitches then make 3 more dc stitches which is a total of 8.
Hope this helps you!

I’ve got some quite similar yarn and have been looking for an easy crochet pattern to make a poncho. This looks quite similar to some ponchos I’ve seen. Do you have any patterns for them? (Can’t seem to find a ‘search button’) . Thanks!
Kathy Lashley says
SRD,
I haven’t designed any ponchos as of yet. It may be in the near future. I do have a search button in the right sidebar of my blog. If you are on mobile, it may have place more towards the bottom.
Thanks
Kathy
