Whew…..I finally made it. I can’t wait to share all the juicy details with you about the Open Canyon Tunic. It’s a really simple top that I think even a beginner will be able to crochet. Plus, since we will all be crocheting it together, all the questions you have are sure to be answered by a helpful ELKie when you join the group.
I saw the Caron Cotton Cakes by Yarnspirations at my local Michael’s store about a month or so ago. When I picked it up, I knew I wanted to use it. It has a squishy feel and once I started playing around with the yarn, I loved the stitch definition. The cotton/acrylic blend yarn with the self striping color changes were really a lot of fun to use with this project.
I didn’t have to worry about making all these color changes with the project. The yarn did all the work for me. The only ends you’ll have to weave in are the ones when you add a new skein of yarn or “want to make the color” change in a particular area.
Let’s get on to the supply list and schedule:

You’ll see from the above photo that I decided to leave a slit in the side of my project. It’s a personal choice really, but I felt like it set better on my hips and wanted to try something different.
