As a way to battle depression and anxiety, Heather has found crochet to be her remedy.
Who Taught You to Crochet?
My daughter’s grandmother taught me how to make a one color granny square. Later my own granny taught me the corner to corner stitch. Since then I’ve self-taught (and taught others!) from reading patterns and YouTube videos.
How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
Around 17 years now! I was a knitter before, but all I knew were squares and rectangles, knit and purl. Crochet is so much more fun!!
Why is Crochet More than Just a Hobby to You?
Crochet is my sanity. I suffer from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. When life gets too much for me to handle, I can grab a hook, a pattern, and some yarn, turn on Netflix or my PVR and just go with it. It’s so soothing and relaxing. Plus, when I’m finished, I’ve accomplished something gorgeous!!
