Wow! We have our own “I Love Yarn Day” and there is no way to better celebrate it than to have an ELKie Style Celebration! Are you a member of the ELKies? It’s a fun and very supportive group of crocheters that gather everyday in the cyber world of Facebook to talk crochet!
Here is the way the Craft Yarn Council sees celebrating “I Love Yarn Day”. They say, “Fiber fans across the globe are encouraged to share their affection for yarn and stitch it forward by teaching at least one newbie to yarn-craft and experience its feel good benefits. Whether people prefer to knit it, crochet it, spin it, weave it or bomb it, the goal is for every yarn-crafter to share their know how and love of yarn with someone new on October 15th. And then post it, tweet it, pin it and share it on social media with the hashtags #StitchItForward and #iloveyarnday to celebrate and motivate others to join in the fun!”
How will you celebrate today? I’d love to hear your stories! Be sure to scroll down for a giveaway!
We can answer your questions, offer advice and support if you need to buy just one more skein of yarn! I must admit the entire group really are enablers….We love yarn and crochet as much as anything else we do and it shows with all the new beautiful projects being shown off. Don’t be bashful to show off your projects too! We have everyone from the beginner to the more advanced crocheter in the group!
Let’s Celebrate I Love Yarn Day by offering a $50 Gift Card to Amazon! Amazon seems the simplest way to offer it to everyone including all the international people! Be sure to register below.
The giveaway ends October 19th, 2016 at 11:59 pm CST! There are multiple ways to get extra “points” and the only mandatory entry is adding your email address!

I celebrated I Love Yarn Day by finally sorting 2 30-gallon bags of yarn that was given to me. I have been connected to several people in my state, who love to knit or crochet but lack the resources to buy enough yarn for projects. I’m especially excited to send yarn to a young lady (13 years old), who is learning to crochet and wants to make blankets for her nieces! Also I managed to crochet three rows on a new design before my newborn twins demanded that I feed them 🙂
