Please help me understand the instructions for the Wrapped in Warmth Triangular Shawl.
For example, row one instructions read as listed below. At the very end you have “(10 st)”. There are more than 10 stitches in the row and your instructions state to “be sure to count the ch 2 as part of your stitch count”. In counting the ch 2 then shouldn’t the stitch count be 12 instead of 10?
Row 1: ch 3, 3 dc in ring, ch 2, (forms center), 4 dc in ring, turn (10 st)
Hi Debra,
The ch 3 counts as one dc, 3 dc which makes 4 plus the two chain stitches makes 6 so far. Include the last 4 stitches will give you 10 stitches. I have upgraded the pattern. If you’ve purchased it in the past on Ravelry, check for the update. I actually took out counting the ch 2 as a stitch and included a stitch diagram. Let me know f you have any other problems.

Hi Kathy, I was following the MIFM (Jan) patterns, but I seem to have misplaced them.
I seem to remember seeing a post with them all in it. Was I wrong? Please, don’t let me be wrong.
Would you, please, lead me to those patterns again?
Thanks
Dawn
You can get all of the patterns on the main page of the blog under the “Make it for Me” Projects menu. Here ya go though. Click HERE.
Hi I was so excited to start your Royal Summer Shawl which I got free for the limited time on Ravelry and am having problems downloading it any suggestions. I have the perfect yarn too, very excited tia
Debbie,
Awwww. As you stated, the pattern was free on the blog for a limited time and is now only available as a paid pattern. The pattern was not added to Ravelry as a PDF file, so adding it to the library didn’t save the pattern. I do promotions quite often with giving away patterns, so please follow me on social media for future announcements. I’m sure there will be opportunities to get the pattern unless you wanted to go ahead and purchase it. 🙂
Kathy
I am looking for a free pattern (crochet ) for a Ala scarf for my dad. Do you have anything? Thanks in advance.
I have a houndtooth scarf. Would that be okay?
I have been wanting to make your dixie charm shawl for awhile! I finally started it a couple of days ago and now almost finished! It is so beautiful and much easier than I thought! I have made your patterns and just LOVE them! Thanks so much!
So happy to hear! Yay!
Could this be made with a chunky yarn? If so, what hook size would you recommend?
Therese,
Which pattern do you want to use with the chunky yarn?
Beautiful!
Unable to click on the Country Appeal Scarf pattern 🙁
I’m so sorry Jessica. I will look into it when I get home. For now you search for Country Appeal and it should show up for you.
Jessica,
You should be able to click the photo now to reach the pattern. Thanks for telling me.
Kathy
It is worked “flat” then attached. So you could make it a mobius by twisting one side of it before attaching.
I just finished my scarf!!! I am thrilled with how it came out and how quickly it made up! I used Caron Simply Soft in black and off-white. I have posted photos on my pinterest board “Hilary’s Hands” Thank you so much for this beautiful work of art!!!
Thanks Hilary! I’ll be sure to find you on Pinterest!
Kathy
I love this hound stooth scarf. As a Bama fan I just had to give it a try and was amazed and how much fun this was to make. It worked up fairly fast and easy and I love how it feels. I did not make mine into an infinity scarf however, I just left the ends loose. Thanks for a great pattern. I’m sure once I start wearing it I’ll get many requests for one from family and friends.
Jennifer,
So glad you liked the pattern. Get the hook ready because I’m sure you will get requests!!!
Kathy
Love the houndstooth scarf!
This is a wonderful pattern and can’t wait to make it. I’ve got a skirt already to go with it!
I completed the scarf. It is stunning. Thank you so much for the pattern and your tireless time perfecting it. I love it!
Valerie,
I’m so glad it turned out the way you wanted! You should show it off on my “Making it thru Monday”! Each Monday on my Facebook page people show off their projects. I would love to see the scarf. You can email me a photo of your project if you are interested. elkstudiocrochet@gmail.com
