Last week I asked you what you would like to see on the next show. Well, it’s all about cowls today on ELK Studio’s Saturday Crochet Show. Some of the patterns are free while others are a paid pattern. Either way, each pattern has its own unique style and personality. I hope you will find something that suits your fancy and that will make you get the ole’ hook out and crochet the day away!
A beautiful cowl by My Merry Messy Life. Are you one that needs a little extra help at times with crochet patterns? No worries. There is a photo tutorial attached to this free pattern that offers a lot of help. I love the vibrant blue of the cowl too. It’s just the right size for me. A definite addition to my list of patterns I want to make.
Introducing “The Bristol”. I love the name because it seems so sophisticated just like the look of the scarf. Jocelyn Designs has created this beautiful scarf so that it’s even easy for the beginner. She uses a big hook and bulky yarn, so do you know what that means? If you need a gift quick, fast and in a hurry, this is definitely one you want to make.
My Hobby is Crochet calls this one the “Hypnotic Heart Cowl”. What a perfect name for this cowl and her color choice really is great because it shows so much detail. It keeps your eye constantly roaming around to see the difference colors and texture. Kinga also does a photo tutorial with this beautiful pattern too which can be so helpful. A bonus is she also offers a hat pattern to match. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll find it.
Although it is finally getting warmer here in Alabama, there are other places in the world just starting their winter. Here is a beautiful hooded cowl just for you by MNE Crafts. I love the blue and white but could also see it in some warm, rustic colors too. There are some tips and hints before starting the pattern. I love that section because it’s the designer trying to help you see the pattern as she does. I know when I follow someone’s pattern, I can get tunnel vision but the tips and hint section always helps me to see outside of the box.
Fun, fun, fun is the word that comes to mind when I see this scarf by Moogly. I mean the name of the scarf is Splash of Spring. I think everyone in North America can say this winter has been cold and long. There’s nothing like seeing vibrant spring colors to give you a pep in your step! Once again Tamara has great written instructions with some optional stitching that she demonstrates on her video tutorials. Great project!
Love the lacey look of this scarf by Trifles N Treasures! Another perk of this scarf besides it’s beauty is it will only take one skein of Red Heart yarn! So if you have that one lonely skein of yarn sitting in your stash, here’s your chance to make something beautiful!
Simple beauty and elegance wrapped up in this cowl by Petals to Picots. The shell stitching and flower used for the closure really places this scarflette into a league of its own. I can see myself wearing it casually while having lunch with the girls or with something a little fancy on a date night with hubby. Totally my style!
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s show! What would you like to see next week? Leave me a comment in the space provided below.
