Who Taught You to Crochet?
I crochet baby hats for the newborn nursery, lap robes for the nursing home and the Veteran’s Hospice Home. My Grandmother taught me to crochet at age 3.

How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
I have been crocheting for 73 years! I crochet in the car, waiting for various appointments, and anytime my hands are not already busy!

 

 

Why is Crochet More than Just a Hobby to You?
My greatest joy in life is bringing joy to others, and when I give my crocheted items to people, the joy in their eyes and on their face brings me joy!
I finished crocheting a little dolly, as I waited for my food at a restaurant. I was watching a little girl having a birthday dinner with her family. She opened one package after another, with NO excitement of any kind. A little voice in my head told me to give the newly made dolly to the little girl.
When I did, she SQUEALED and hugged me, as tears of happiness streamed down her cheeks, and said, “That’s what I wanted, a dolly!”
THAT, my friends, is what fuels my passion to bring joy to others!
