In this week’s Crochet Stories, learn why June Crochet’s with Love and what she’d like to leave as her legacy.
Who Taught You to Crochet?
I am self-taught. At age 13, I decided I loved lace. So I had to learn every craft that would allow me to make lace. Crochet was my second self-taught craft to attempt lace making. Of all of my crafting, crochet is definitely my favorite.
How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
I have been crocheting for 53 years.
Why is Crochet More than Just a Hobby to You?
I want to leave a legacy for my family and friends that says “LOVE”. What better way to leave a legacy of love than to handcraft things for them that hopefully become heirlooms. Blankets, hats, toys especially. But I also crochet daily for a preemie bereavement group. Hats, blankets, angel wings. I send love to those grieving parents through that organization. I am able to crochet several hours each day since I retired last November. Lucky me! And my family and friends.
