From slippers to selling in consignments, Trisha crochets to keep memories of her mom close.
Who Taught You to Crochet?
My mother taught me.
How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
Off and on for 50 years. I started making slippers and giving them for Christmas gifts. Just watching my mom is how I learn how to make them. She insisted I learn how to read directions and I am so happy she taught me all the terms and crochet stitches. I feel close to her when I’m crocheting. She died young at 54 years.
Why is Crochet More than Just a Hobby to You?
People kept telling me how gifted I was and I finally started selling on consignments. It worked really well for a long time… I only do one big sale at our Winter art market in December but it keeps me busy. I do really well in that.
