I taught myself, at age 6. I fell in love with yarn at the store. So I found a book and a hook and the rest is history. I discovered that I loved being able to take a literal string and make it into something functional. And the excitement has never stopped.
How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
I have been on this journey for 53 years. It has empowered me in so many ways. It opened a whole new world for me. It gave me something that was just mine.

Why is Crochet More Than Just a Hobby to You?
Where do I start? For me, as a child, I always preferred to be by myself. And that hasn’t changed much as an adult. It gives me an outlet for all of my creative energy. It has become like a friend. It is the one thing I do for myself.
