From learning the basics of crochet at Girl’s Scout to becoming a yarn hoarder, Nicole is crocheting away and enjoying her retirement.
Who Taught You to Crochet?
I was 11 or 12 and was in the Girl’s Scout. I learned to crochet and I loved it but I didn’t keep it up. Now that my husband and I are retired, I wanted to keep busy so at first, I started gardening, then color adult coloring books. While I love to do this something told me to start back crocheting and off I went. I don’t know how long this bug I got will last. I hope until God calls me home because I fell in love all over again. I have been doing it now for a few months and it seems like it is not enough time in the day to enjoy my love for this art of making something from a crochet hook and some yarn. Oh, I am a yarn hoarder already it got afire lit under me that is glowing so bright. I wonder am I the only one to feel this way. Lol.
How Long Have You Been Crocheting?
A few months now but it only feels like a few hours.

Why is Crochet More than Just a Hobby to You?
It is the last thing I am doing before I retire to my bedroom and the first thing I do when I open my eyes no matter what time it is.
I suffer from depression and anxiety and I have really dark days. It is having a positive effect in my life. Crocheting keeps me focused and grounded. Crocheting makes me see what value I have in this world. And for that, I am truly grateful.
