It’s been a little over a month since I’ve graduated and I have worked to get my summer beach hat ready and guess what? It’s finally done!! Let me introduce you to my beach hat now called:
Southern and Sassy
The release date for the pattern is Tuesday, June 18th on Ravelry and Craftsy and will include pictures to help guide you in those tricky areas. Also, because I am left-handed, I’ve included a right and left-handed version to the pattern. I feel it’s important to include those 5% of the people in the world, and there have been times pictures for a lefty would’ve been wonderful! All of the supplies and potential suppliers are in the pattern as well with links provided because you are going to need more than just yarn!
Here is a picture of Cindy’s hat. Cindy was kind enough to be one of my testers for the hat, and I think it looks fabulous don’t you?
I want to thank everyone for their patience as this hat has come to life. It has taken me a while to get things together with graduating from school, but I do believe it’s been worth it. I have really enjoyed everyone hanging out with me and I’m excited about ELK Studio!
I think it’s pretty cool to create something that not only I can enjoy but others too! I pray everyone has a great day and be on the look out for the pattern on Tuesday!
Join me on ELK Studio’s Facebook page. We have lots of fun over there sharing our projects, tutorials and anything else we can dream up!
Kathy
Thank you Cathy! It has been so much fun to make but more so to wear!
I think it is wonderful that you can include lefties in your projects. I’m left-handed, but I crochet and knit right-handed because that’s the way I was taught. I wish there had been someone like you around when I was struggling to learn! I’m so glad you can help others in this way 🙂
Thank you Natasha! You are like most left-handed people and have adapted. I’ve gotten myself confused on more than one occasion with instructions or pictures because I would forget that it was made for a right-handed person. I’m really excited about this pattern for the lefties and hope it helps too!
I love how voluminous and floppy (in a chic way!) it is! Sooo often crochet hats are tiny, but this is brim-tastic!
Eve,
Thank you so much and I love your word “brimtastic”! So very cute!!! The hat is definitely lots of fun to wear and holds shape very well.
Yeah Kathy! I can’t wait 🙂 Rhondda
Thanks Rhondda!
I’m so excited! I’m a left handed crocheter as well! It will be so nice to have it written so I can see it!
I’m excited about it too!!!!
I love your hats. They are very gorgeous and I especially love the dip in the front to peek from behind of it. I want to thank you because not many ppl include the 5% and it just makes it all the more difficult at times to get patterns just right. I can’t wait for their debut! Happy Summer!
That’s one reason I love using the millinery wiring. You can shape the hat to your liking!!! Thanks for the compliment!
I love it and i’m so excited….my Hobby Lobby even has the yarn is stock I want. What else do you need to make the hat besides yarn?
Millinery wire, joiners and stiffening spray. You can email me if you were wanting to purchase these items before the pattern releases. elkstudiocrochet@gmail.com
Really gorgeous! Congratulations for finishing the pattern.
Thanks so much!!!
I’m really excited about your pattern release!!! Can’t wait to try this hat!!!
Thanks Elena! I’m super excited and nervous at the same in but in a good way. It’s definitely a move in the right direction!!! By the way, love the coffee cozy!!
I would feel just like you!!! This hat is an awesome design so I think it will go viral!!! I use my mug cozy every day,,, I am so happy you like it!
🙂
