It’s time to kick off Day 16 of the 2018 “Make it for Me” projects!
You’ve survived the holidays and now It’s Time for You! For the entire month of January, I will bring you FREE patterns from amazing designers in the crochet industry. One of the great parts of “Make it for Me” is the designer will tell you exactly what that project means to him/her and why it is considered perfect for you too! Take a few minutes to check it out and decide if this crochet pattern is the one that you’ll dedicate to make for yourself. If this is your first time here, you can find out the details about how “Make it for Me” works HERE.
Now let’s hear what the designer has to say about why they chose this particular design as a “Make it for Me” project. Alexandra says, “I have been having so much fun making wreaths over the last year, experimenting with different crocheted bases and embellishments, though I will admit that Christmas/Winter snuck up on me quite quickly this year, and so I decided to jump right over it, and get into Spring. I am in love with this fun Turqua colorway from the Super Saver line. I have made many items over the last year from similar colors, and I can’t wait to work up a ton more through the year, especially for the upcoming Spring season. I oogle over the beautiful Hydrangea wreaths all over Pinterest and Etsy, and I really wanted to create my own version. I combined some ruffle flowers with the Turqua, and a trendy gray base with a simple, classic white monogram. There are so many possibilities for this wreath – changing up the base color or flowers to match any occasion, holiday or color theme, adding a fun pennant banner diagonal from the flowers or instead of the monogram, a bird cut out or “Welcome” sign would also be great, just to name a few things. After all the work of crocheting the base, and embellishments, a little hot glue makes assembly quick and easy. This wreath came out perfect, and leaves so much inspiration for future wreaths, not to mention, is a bright, cheery welcome home.
