My basket also collapsed, just wouldn’t stand up at all. I was disappointed as yours looked great in the pattern photos.
Kathy Lashley says
I hate to hear this Lee. Were your materials the same as mine? Was your gauge off? I’ve mentioned about dropping a tighter hook on the cluster stitches as that may help.
Thanks for the feedback.
Jolene says
I am not a fan of the turn out of this basket. I feel the wire didn’t add much support. It was still very flimsy. So ugh not satisfied with the turn out
Kathy Lashley says
Hi Jolene,
I’m so sorry your basket didn’t turn out like you wanted. I’m sure it’s still beautiful and would look great filled with yarn!
Have a great night.
Kathy
Tammy Hassler says
I have finished my basket but it doesn’t stand up as firm as yours …what can I do to make it stand up straighter? Don’t get me wrong it has a tight base and a tight rim. It just wants to slump
Kathy Lashley says
Hi Tammy,
I’m not sure. Maybe it’s the cluster stitches. If you decide to try it again,
Maybe drop a hook size
For those rounds. Did you use the millinery wire too?
Karen Todd says
Is the cluster stitch in the basket pattern a 2 dc or 3 dc cluster? The pattern note instructs a 2 dc where the video tutorial instructs a 3 dc. Then when you come to the pattern instructions it only says a cluster stitch. Dosen’t state whether it’s a 2 or 3 dc cluster stitch.
Toni says
It is a 2 DC cluster, up at the top of the instructions under special stitches it says 2dc cluster. I think the video is to show how to make a cluster stitch but it just happens to be a 3dc instead of 2dc. Hope this helps.

Linda says
Where can I find pattern for rows BEFORE Row 25???
Kathy Lashley says
There is a link in the post that will say, “You can see all the Christmas Present CAL Projects and the first part of the basket instructions by clicking on the Main Page.” It’s right above the title Pattern Instructions.
Linda says
I finally found it under “Week 3”. Silly me. I figured it would be before “Week 2”. Doesn’t matter, I am beyond excited! Thanks so much!!!!!
Kathy Lashley says
Yay!
