UPDATE: I have extended the giveaway until 1/03/15, 2:00 pm CST. I hope this will give some of you time to get the pattern!
I must tell you that when I asked if the pattern should be free or paid on my Facebook page a couple of days ago, your answers were overwhelmingly surprising and humbling. To read the supportive questions on why I should charge for the pattern was such a great feeling! It’s like YES! You guys can see this project and know how much work it takes to get it together! I must say thank you for all the comments and kind words. So….my gift to you for such great support is that I will make this pattern FREE until January 3rd at 10:00 am CST. (See the code below)
Now here’s what I will ask of you for the continued support. If you want to let all your other crocheting friends know about the Wrapped in Warmth Shawl, please SHARE ONLY THE LINK and not the code itself. It really helps me when people come to the blog and allows me to keep writing the FREE patterns and do promotions like this one! 🙂
The measurements of the shawl is 64″ in length x 26″ in height.
Love FREE patterns? Don’t forget to subscribe to the weekly newsletter!
Please Favorite or Queue in Ravlery!
To get this pattern for FREE, go to Ravelry and when you get ready to check out, type in the code GREATFANS first then you will check out. No refunds will be given for “accidentally” purchasing the pattern.
The shawl below is smaller than the others in the picture above. I wanted to show you the shawl grows in length quicker than height (which I love)!
I hope you enjoy this pattern! Have a great day! Be blessed.
Kathy

Awww, darn. I missed the giveaway by a whole year. Oh well, still nice pattern.
Kay Wolford says
I’m crocheting the shawl. I did purchase the patter and yarn. Loving doing it and the look! However, when I complete row 28 I have way too many stitches and cannot figure out why. Any suggestions?
Barbara says
Beautiful pattern and Heartland yarn is now my favorite! I am going to gladly buy the pattern next paycheck, but could you tell me in advance how many skeins (yardage) it uses? I may need to send someone out for another skein (I don’t drive). Thanks so very much..can hardly wait to get started! 🙂
Kathy Lashley says
I used every bit of 3 skeins, so if you use a different hook or your tension tends to be loose, you may need 4.
Cheryl Kaiser says
I cannot get the code to work 🙁 Beautiful shawl
Kathy Lashley says
The code was available for only 24 hrs upon releasing the pattern. Stayed tuned for the next release by following me on social media!
Ros says
Thank you for the lovely pattern. Just unsure about row 4 of the border. Should it be CH 3? The edge will not lay flat, it looks like there should be maybe 5 chain?
Kathy Lashley says
Ros,
I looked at my shawl and used a ch 3. Maybe try crocheting loosely the ch3?
Christine says
Help! I’m an inexperienced crocheter and I’m trying to make this wonderful shawl. I’m on row 20 and the thing looks more like a hat than a shawl. It’s oval-ish. Am I doing this right? Did I miss something somewhere? Should I keep going and see how it turns out in the end?
Kathy Lashley says
Christine,
The shawl will take a curvy appearance as you keep going instead of a perfect triangle. It’s made to do that so it has a good drape over the shoulders. Now, I am not sure about it looking like a hat but it “sounds” like you are okay. Are your stitch counts coming out correctly?
Kathy
Christine says
No, I’ve got too many. Is this pattern supposed to be worked in a round or was I supposed to turn at the end of each row? I’m thinking maybe I was supposed to turn instead of continually going around like with a granny square…maybe?
Kathy Lashley says
Yoi are aupposed to turn. Check your emails for an updated version. I added the word “turn” at the end on the latest version. So sorry for the confusion.
Kathy.
Christine says
Thanks! I’ll keep on stitching!
Venetta says
I missed the time limit for the free pattern. It is so pretty that I happlily paid for it. I’m on row 21 and just love it. I can see myself making several for gifts! Thank you for the lovely pattern!
Kathy Lashley says
Im so glad you love it!
Nikki says

I am not usually fond of crocheted clothing but this looks so soft and cuddly I couldn’t resist getting it. It truly is a beautiful shawl and I am anxious to start it. Sadly, I will have to wait until I get to a good yarn shop in March to get the yarn. Love living out in the “boonies” but hate it when I can’t find good yarn! Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing your talents! Have a wonderful year!
