UPDATE: 3/14/2017. I had an error in the written pattern which needed to be changed. The stitch diagram was edited to reflect the change.
Many of you requested an extension of the Southern Diamonds Poncho. Here is the diagram to help you finish up with your project! I hope the diagrams will continue to help you. If you aren’t good at reading patterns but love diagrams….take this opportunity to learn or even vice versa! Read the pattern slowly then correlate it with the diagram. The more you practice at reading patterns and diagrams…the better you’ll get! Have fun today crocheting!

On the extended instructions I came up with 164 D.C. Per side total of 656 per round. Somehow I have 2 extra D.C. Per side. Not sure why. Each side has 50 3 dc per side. Any ideas what I did wrong? Also when doing the extended poncho was I supposed to add an extra stitch per side for row 31?

MANY THANKS for this wonderful poncho pattern, with the great diagrams and directions. I just finished, and really enjoyed the project. I used the same Premier cotton blend yarn, in cream color. It looks good, although the stitches and pattern don’t look quite as defined as yours. Did you block yours, and if so how did you do it? I have never blocked before. Thank you.

Hi Ann,
I didn’t block my project as I liked the way it looked. You could spray it with water then shape it allowing it to lay flat to dry.
