Southern Diamonds Poncho CAL Week 2

Here we are!  The Southern Diamonds Poncho CAL (Crochet-Along) is finally underway!  The anticipation this week has been incredible as I’ve watched so many of you excited to start this beautiful project with me!  I’ve already seen some of the most beautiful yarn chosen and can’t wait to watch these projects come to life!

Supplies:

1.  Premier Cotton Fair Yarn, #2 Fine Weight Yarn, 52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic, 317 yards/100g, Colorway: Plum (5 Skeins)
2. Hook Size:  G/4.00
3. Tapestry Needle for Weaving in the ends.

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip st
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)

Gauge: 6 V-sts and 8 rows = 4”

Round 2:  Beg Shell, (See Special Stitches), *skip next 2 sts, 9 st shell (See Special Stitches) in corner st, skip next 2 sts, Shell (See Special Stitches) in next st, [skip next 4 sts, shell in next st]** until last 2 sts before corner st] repeat from * around ending last repeat at **, skip last 4 sts, join by sl st to top of ch 3. (24 shells, 4 corner 9 st shells)

Round 3:  Sl st in next ch-1 sp and dc, ch 3, 4 dc in same sp, *skip next (ch-1 sp, 2 dc, ch-1 sp), 3 dc in next st, skip next ch-1 sp, 7 dc in corner st, skip next ch-1 sp, 3 dc in next st, [skip next (ch-1 sp, 2 dc, ch-1 sp), 5 dc in next st], until 9 St Shell, repeat from * around, join by sl st to top of ch 3.
