- Hook Size: G/4.00mm
- Tapestry Needle for Weaving in the ends.
Gauge: 20 dc and 10 rows = 4″
Finished Measurement: 63″ x 15″
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
Special Stitches:
V-st(s): (dc, ch, dc)
Notes:
- Ch 3 counts as the first dc in the pattern. (Check out an alternative method)
- If you decided to use the alternative method when you see the Ch 4, you would complete alternative method and chain one.
- If you decided to use the alternative method when you see the Ch 5, you would complete alternative method and chain two.
- I suggest that you use stitch markers for your starting chain. Place a stitch marker every 20 stitches so that you can keep up with your count easier.
- For a larger or smaller project, you can chain multiples of 6 plus 2.

Kathy, I’m sort of new to crochet and also CAL. I was going along great with the shawl until I got to row 21. I am a little confused. *skip next (ch-1 sp, sc) 2 times. What am I doing 2 times. I hope I am explaining this right.
Kathy Lashley says
Brenda,
Hi! Let me try to help you. I’ll write it long form. *skip next ch-1 sp, sc, skip next ch-1 sp, sc then proceed with the pattern. What is written in the pattern is basically writing it in short form. I hope this helps you.

This is such a beautiful shawl good job.I’m a. Beginner.I’d like to see some other pattern s.such as Afghans.
Berts says
Kathy,
Row 21 references a “v-st (see special stitches)” there are no instructions that i could find for the v-st and no special stitches listed in the pattern.
Please let me know where these are.
ThanKS.
Kathy Lashley says
Hi Berts,
If you printed the pattern early this morning right after it was published, you may not have seen the update. The V-st is (dc,ch 1,dc) but is now included in the pattern along with a section for Special Stitches.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Have a great night!
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I am really loving this shawl pattern! Thank you!
I have a question on Week 3, based on your photo, I believe Row 15 and 16 are made with White and Rows 17-20 are made with Bright Pink?
Can you please confirm that? It is not called out in the pattern
Kathy Lashley says
Good Morning Christiann,
You are correct. I’ve updated the pattern. It may take a few minutes for you to see the reflected change on the blog.
