Wow! Can you believe this is our 3rd year of the Christmas Present Crochet-Along? I am really excited to share this year with you because Premier Yarns agreed to sponsor us ELKies!
As always, the goal of the event is to encourage everyone to get those projects done early so you won’t be burning the midnight oil on Christmas Eve to get that promised blanket or hat done for that loved one.
Let this year be YOUR year! The ELKies Facebook group is a great way to stay encouraged and motivated to join in on the fun. Once the event kicks off and you start seeing all those projects in the group, there’s no way you won’t be able to pick up that hook and yarn and get started! Especially this year….why? I love the folks at Premier Yarns and they love the ELKies just as much! We’ve worked together over the last few months collaborating to come up with some great projects using their wonderful yarns that are perfect for each specific project within the CAL. Lots of great things coming your way, I promise!
This year we will have 5 projects with the first one starting July 3 and the last one ending in October. If you remember, I polled the ELKies a couple of months ago asking what they wanted to see in the CAL. I’m happy to announce most of the top voted projects are making it into the CAL! Woo Hoo right? (Don’t remember what they were? Head over to the group….I’ve bumped the poll so you’ll be able to see what “might” be included.)
The first project is Emory’s Christmas Tree Skirt using the Premier Home Cotton Big Glitz yarn.
As Emory (the hubby) was watching me put this skirt together, he wanted to make sure we were keeping it for our house. It gave me a laugh but really made me feel good to know that he liked it that much. I won’t be showing you a picture of it today, but you can see the finished project on July 3rd when Week 1 is published with the supply list and schedule. You’ll also receive a code for 10% discount when you order from the Premier Yarns website too.

Christmas already? I am getting ready to celebrate Canada’s 150 birthday !🇨🇦 I have decided my favorite Elfs to try and keep up with the projects and donate them to Hearth House an organization dedicated to cancer support for those who are afflicted with this disease as well as family support Jeopardy is finishing up and back to my hook I go… ps are premier yarns available in Canada? I may not be able to obtain any of the give-away items any longer now that I live in Cuenca, Ecuador, but at least I can follow along on the CAL and pick up great pointers.

Of course, not having a “vote” doesn’t make us any less interested in joining this CAL, but I just wanted to say that we do feel a little left out sometimes. (But not enough to join Facebook.)
