I splurged…..I couldn’t help it. I know you know exactly what I’m talking about don’t you? Sometimes you just see a beautiful yarn and you gotta have it… I bought the Crystal Palace Mochi Plus Yarn from Craftsy and really loved it! I bought three skeins of it and when it arrived, I knew it would make a beautiful scarf? What do you think?

Supplies:
1. Crystal Palace Mochi Plus Yarn, Weight #4 Worsted Weight, Yardage: 50g/95yds, I used 3 full skeins. Color #629, Cherries Jubilee.
2. Hook: H/5.0
3. Tapestry Needle for weaving in the ends.
Gauge: Is not important for this project.
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
Special Stitch – Cluster V-Stitch (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc)
Chain in multiples of 4 plus 3
For my project I chained 24 plus 3
NOTE: I only had 27 stitches for my beginning chain but once you complete one row of the pattern, you will actually have 35 stitches. Don’t let that throw you off. It’s because between the cluster stitches, I used 3 chains to open up the scarf and allow for a better drape.
Ch 27
Row 1: cluster v-st (see special stitch above) in 7th ch from hook (6 ch count as first dc and first skip 3 ch), skip next 3 ch, *cluster v-stitch, skip next 3 ch*, ending with dc in last ch, turn (35 st)
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), cluster v-st in next ch 3 space and each ch 3 space across ending with dc in top of 3rd ch, turn
Row 3 -100 : Repeat Row 2 until you’ve reached your desired length. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
If you want an infinity scarf like pictured above, just whip stitch your ends together and fasten off.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!

Fell in love as soon as I saw this scarf. Don’t know if it was the colorway or the pattern or both, but I ordered 3 skeins of Cherries Jubilee and CAN’T WAIT to make mine! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Kathy Lashley says
I would love to see it when you’ve finished!
Emily says
Are you sure it’s not cherries jubilee? At that price, I want to be sure I’m ordering the right one. 🙂
Kathy Lashley says
Emily, I’m not home right now and tried to look up my order on Craftsy and it only showed me the number I purchased and not the color. I’m pretty sure it was Fandango but let me see if I still have the yarn info somewhere at home before you order. I can see what you are saying when I looked at the link you gave me. I’ll get back with you later this evening. Hope that’s okay. And yes….I didn’t alter the color on my picture. It’s true to the image. I’ll let you know.

Amazing! I just made this col in blue tones. Thanks for the pattern.

That’s a beautiful scarf and I love the yarn. Looking forward to making it!
Ashley says
Gorgeous! Does the yarn color have a name or color number? Would love to find it!
Kathy Lashley says
Ashley,
That particular yarn is called Fandango. If you click on the link for the Crystal Palace Yarn, you will see all the beautiful color choices.

Just what I was going to ask! My monitor shows shades of red being the predominate theme, with some earthy hues added in. Am I seeing the true colors? I desperately need a good, self patterning yarn with long sections of each color, in a red theme. So, I’m very interested! Thank you for the pattern! It’s a stunning project!
Kathy Lashley says
After looking and looking, I finally was able to find the label. You ladies are right, and I’m not sure how I came up with Fandango. I apologize. The Color #is 629 which is Cherries Jubilee. I’ll correct it on the pattern. 🙂

I’m having the curling issue. Can you elaborate on row 2…maybe I’m doing it wrong. I’m I suppose to be doing the cluster every 3 spaces? I’m new to all this but I love the scarf. Thanks
Kathy Lashley says
Shawnn,
The cluster stitch has you create 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc. This means that on row 2 you will cluster in the ch 3 space that you made on the previous row. If your project is “curling” maybe your tension is too tight. You could try going up a hook size to see if that would help. While your initial chain has 27 stitches, the rows will each have 35 stitches. Try this and see if it helps. 🙂

I thought i had it..but with each row mu stitches are doubling .Not sure what I’m doing wrong…maybe i should give up..not good at reading patterns
Kathy Lashley says
If you want to send me a picture of your project laid out that may help me help you. I’m not sure though but could give it a try. Send it to elkstudiocrochet@gmail.com

Finally figured it out…took many tries…thanks for the beautiful pattern

I’m on my fourth row of this scarf. The crocheted yarn is all curly and I’m afraid it will never lie straight for the finished scarf… Should I just keep going or do I need to fix something? Maybe my first row of chains were too tight?
Kathy Lashley says
I may agree with you if the project is curling. Either loosen up the stitches or increase your hook size. Maybe that will help.

.wonderful pattern. Many thanks, I shall certainly attempt it, although I am very new to this craft. From Joan, Nottinghamshire, England.

I too am a self taught crocheter. I am new to reading instructions. Would it be possible for ou to go in to more detail step by step chain by chain instructions? I ordered the yarn and desperately want to do this scarf
Marlana says
Your scarf is beautiful! I’m a self-taught beginner and absolutely do not understand how to read patterns. (Although I’m going to try to make this beautiful scarf anyway!) Would you consider providing a video tutorial?

Kathy Lashley says
I haven’t thought of it but I possibly could in the future. Right now I don’t have the equipment to invert the image, as I am left-handed and that may only cause you more confusion. Hopefully the proper equipment is in the near future. Good luck to you!

Kathy,
I did it: I figured out how to read your pattern! After several “pull-outs/restarts” I made the scarf and it turned out great! My sister saw me working on it and asked for one. I’m going to surprise her with it! Thanks again!

Th e pattern is not like the picture!!! How many stitches did you use in the pictured scarf???
Kathy Lashley says
Shirley,
The pictures scarf is the exact pattern as written. The type of yarn, hook size, tension can make a big difference.
