Please Favorite or Queue in Ravelry!

On Monday I released the Mountain Mist Beanie and thought it would be fun to have a matching scarf, and I’ll admit that I’m very happy with how it turn out too.  What do you think about it?  I’d love to hear your opinion.

Let me give a big ole’ thank you to Wendy from The Hooked Haberdasher for sending me this yummy yarn!  She sent it to me several months ago, and I’ve finally had the time to work with it.   The brand is Patons Decor which is 75% Acrylic and 25% wool!  The feel of the yarn is wonderful and slid through my hands so nicely.  There wasn’t any splicing problems and gave great stitch detail to the project.  I would definitely recommend it!  Thank you once again Wendy!  You should check out her Facebook page too and tell her she has great taste in yarn!

Okay, so if you’ve click on the Mountain Mist Beanie link then you may notice a difference in the look of the pattern.  Yep, I changed up the color scheme and if you follow me, you know I love to do see what happens when changing color scheme.  Look at Morning Frost or Mystic Beanie for instance and you’ll see what I mean.  Anyway, If you love this pattern sequence, no worries, I’ve given to color changes to you at the bottom of the beanie blog post too.  Of course they will be on here but you won’t have to jump back and forth…I’ve take care of that for you!

Pattern Instructions

Supplies:
1. Paton Decor or any worsted weight yarn. Specifications for the Patons: 3.5 oz/100 grams 208 yds. Approximately 300-350 yards.
Colors: Sage Green, Rich Sage Green and White
2. Crochet Hook Size – I/ 5.50
3. Tapestry needle for weaving in the ends.

Gauge:
12 dc stitches and 6 Rows = approximately 4″

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
fpdc – front post double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together – Here’s a great tutorial from Moogly explaining the stitch.
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
V-Stitch – 2 dc in same st.

Note: Ch 1 and sl st does not count as a stitch in this pattern!

Using Color A

Ch 140, join by sl st to first ch (Be careful not to twist your chain!)

Round 1: Ch 1 and sc in first ch, sc in next ch and each ch around, join by sl st to first sc. (140 st)

Round 2:  ch 1 and hdc in first st, hdc in next st and each st around, join by sl st to first hdc. (140 st)

Color B

Round 3: ch 1 and sc in first st, sc in next st and around, join by sl st to first sc. (140 st)

Color A

Round 4: ch 3 and dc in same st, skip next st, *V-Stitch in next st, skip next st*, repeat from *to*, join by sl st to top of 3rd ch, (140 st)

Color C
Round 5: sl st in V-Stitch, ch 1, *fpdc around post of dc (or 1st leg of the V-Stitch), sl st in V st, ch 1, fpdc around post of next dc (or second leg of the V-Stitch)*, repeat from *to*, join by sl st to top of first fpdc. (140 st) (Remember the sl st and ch 1 does not count as a stitch).

Color B

Round 6: ch 1 and sc in first fpdc, sc in next fpdc and each fpdc around, join by sl st to first sc. (140 st)

Round 7-15: Repeat Rounds 4-6

Color A
Round 16:  ch 1 and hdc in first st, hdc in next st and around, join by sl st to first hdc. (140 st)

Round 17:  ch 1 and sc in first st, sc in next st and around, join by sl st to first sc. (140 st)
